'C'est si bon'
French collection
inspired by memories of holidays in France -the kind of carefree French summers of the popular song ‘C’est si bon!’ (‘It’s so good!’), sung by Eartha Kitt and others.
This summer Anna’s signature feminine designs, such as the now classic Bardot wrap dress, feature quintessentially French fabrics: Indiennes’ cottons bear the Provencal colours and designs – mustard yellows and pinks – that have been synonymous with the South of France since the 17th century, when French artisans first learnt how to produce the kind of printed cottons originally imported from India and Persia.
Some of Anna’s designs show the seal edge of the printed fabrics to reveal the names of the print designs supplied by Indiennes specialists Les Olivades.
Vintage inspired florals in sunny colours mix with Guipure lace appliqued onto two-tone linens, while tulle is decorated with embroidery and deck chair stripes are woven in silk taffeta.
