‘Quick snap take my photograph’
Autumn winter 2020
Autumn-Winter 2020 collection, ‘Quick Snap’, takes its name from the lyrics of the Ren Harvieu song ‘Teenage Mascara’ featured in the showcase films directed by Jonathan Glynn-Smith and shot on location at the Tulchan Estate, Scotland.
Anna was captivated by the song when she heard it and knew she wanted to use it, because the phrase evokes so well the ‘Anna Mason moment’ that so many women experience while wearing her clothes, where they’re stopped, complimented and asked, “What are you wearing? You look so good!”.
The collection is inspired by two of Anna Mason’s favourite icons, Catherine Deneuve and Brigitte Bardot, in the 60s and 70s. Their distinct styles are a treasure trove of romantic silhouettes, with high necks, dramatic sleeves and sleek lines that Anna returns to again and again Slyly Modest, Slyly Sexy..
‘Quick Snap’ is realised in enduringly classic fabrics: denim, Viyella, corduroy, velvet and silk satin. Colour ways are centred on rich, warm, densely coloured neutrals of caramel, cinnamon and chocolate with pops of violet and metallic flashes. Decorative fabrics include an eye-catching blousy metallic floral jacquard and fil coupé of golden hearts, which reiterate romance and femininity.
As with all Anna Mason collections, these clothes are beautifully made, luxurious pieces designed to fit and flatter the wearer so that they are worn again and again.
