Autumn Winter 2022
Inspired by the particular style of Yves Saint Laurent's muse and 70’s it girl Lou Lou de La Falaise.
Her style blended bohemian with classic bourgeois elements and created her chic ‘haute bohemienne’ look that endures today in the fashion hall of fame.
Her look was layered, mix and match, textured, colourful and full of juxtapositions: A peasant blouse with leather pants and silk scarf or a lace blouse under a biker jacket, patterns and textures clashed and enhanced. Her style was exotic, intuitive and thrown together but always looked polished and well dressed.
She inspired ‘Le smoking’ and wore leather over satin or lace and this spirited style is what inspired me. Fabrics include heavy linens, velvets, leather, tweed, boucle and silk marocain.
I found an antique piece of fabric that we then developed into a print with one of Italy’s finest printers on both silk and cotton that retains an antique look. I worked with mills that create fabrics for Chanel, Valentino and Maxmara to make exclusive tweeds, wools and boucles for us.
Loro Piana worked with us on a unique membrane that bonds to cashmere to make a waterproofed cashmere which we used to make the ultimate forever ‘coat /mac‘.
Colours are fuchsia, morello cherry, cerise, cognac, cafe au lait, creme, gloss black and interesting neutrals.
